Hitlers Success in Winning the Hearts and Minds of Youths During Hitler’s rule, he attempted to gain as much support as possible and impose Nazi values into everyday life. Hitler aimed a large amount of propaganda at women but he also targeted at the youth generation. Similarly to women, it’s very difficult to determine their true feelings or if the evidence obtained is genuine. It is also debated whether or not Hitler actually won over the hearts and minds of the youth or if he only controlled them. This essay will consider whether Hitler ‘won’ the hearts and minds of German youths, or if he just controlled them. The evidence here shows that the hearts or the minds of Youths were not all dedicated to Hitler, or else there would not have been any such organisations or pamphlets being made. Parents of the Youths also played a pivotal part in their child’s participation in Hitler Youth Groups. Hitler was aware of this, which is why he introduced payments and reward for parents who encouraged parents to make their children join. An action likes this also suggests that Hitler lacked confidence with his own persuasive skills and that not all youths joint by their own choice. This also provides evidence that Hitler failed to win over the hearts and minds of youths, despite the large numbers of children who joined. Hitler tried to impose his ideology on the rest of the Country; one of his targets was to achieve a Pure Aryan race. In order for this Hitler needed co-operation from Germany people, including youths, as they were the future. My replied was â€Å"Happy.† I know it was an odd reply, but I ended up saying happiness: from what I knew happiness had different faces. Some versions of happiness weren’t appealing to me, some were beautiful. Like all the other kids, I thought the beautiful versions were the ones on TV. This was the life to strive for. Today, I am inspired by this quote by Sadako Sasaki: â€Å"I will write peace on your wings and you will fly all over the world - Sadako Sasaki†Ã¢â‚¬ ¦show more content†¦In this moment, seeing this materialistic happiness, I saw that for people buying happiness in this form, it was really something that distracted them from reality. It was such an appealing and tempting version of happiness that in that moment, I too was pulled in. Looking more at the brand labels and sales stickers. This was also one of the joyous moment in my life. I had the opportunity to enjoy and experience the other side. However, after this, I found I was now content with a warm bed, food on my plate and love from my family. That is all I needed in my life and I wouldn’t change for anything. You may say I am less fortunate if you believe in that materialistic happiness; being a refugee, having ‘less’ than the rest, but I will say I am one of the most fortunate. People see me and rather than looking at the whole story, they base their beliefs only on what they want to see and the assumptions they hold. She married a man just like he father. She was looking for a father figure and trying to look up to that man. In Contrast, the difference between â€Å"My Papa’s Waltz† and â€Å"Daddy† is the positive and negative memory of the fathers. The imagery and language, the symbolism, and tone in the poem gave the impression of love between a father and son. â€Å"We romped until the pans slid from the kitchen shelf. † The poem shows the father and son’s playful act while dancing. The difference in â€Å"Daddy† is the girl shows hate towards her father and it’s not a very pleasant memory of him. She even states that she had to kill him but in a figurative way. She describes that her father wasn’t always around and that she might as while have been a Jew. â€Å"I began to talk like a Jew. I think I may well be a Jew. †(Plath, lines 33-34). In conclusion, anyone can have a father but not many can say they have a good father. Both poems had their similarities such as they loved their fathers. The differences between the poems were the positive or negative memory they had of their fathers. The relationship that the boy had in â€Å"My Papa’s Waltz† was a fun and loving memory.
